The Role
This position supports the payroll Coordinator in the day-to-day functions of payroll matters both for external and internal stakeholders including legislative requirement.
Confidentiality and privacy are to be adhered to and the aim is to support SCHS management and staff to ensure that we are focused on addressing the SDoH. Under the direction of the Payroll Coordinator, the Payroll Officer- Finance Services role is responsible for maintaining and monitoring Payroll functions that are required for both external and internal stakeholders. The role will ensure that Superannuation, PAYG, Portable long service leave and other legislative regulations are meet. The position will work closely with staff and the Human Resource team to ensure processing of payroll is efficient and accurate.
The role may also assist the Finance team with administration functions either in accounts receivable and/or accounts payable.
Key Selection Criteria
Essential
- Accounting or Business qualification (Advanced Diploma, Diploma or equivalent) Payroll or administration tertiary accreditation; or substantial experience and practical knowledge of the payroll process with strong financial experience to perform payruns and assist accounts receivable/payable.
- Simultaneously interpreting several Awards.
- An understanding of the issue of confidentiality.
- High accuracy and attention to detail and have the ability to prioritise workload in a busy environment.
- Ability to work within a team environment and attainment of team goals.
- Ability to communicate effectively with all internal/external stakeholders.
- Problem solving and analytical skills.
Desirable:
- Experience with the following software: ADP PayForce, ADP RealTime, Sage Evolution Financial, SharePoint, Microsoft Office Suite.
