Support Recovery Through Connection and Hope
Recovery is built on connection, understanding and the belief that change is possible. At Lives Lived Well, we're looking for a full-time Peer Navigator to join our Rockhampton team and use their lived experience to support people accessing alcohol and other drug treatment services.
This is a unique opportunity to turn your experience into meaningful support for others as they navigate their own recovery journey. Every day, you'll use your lived experience to inspire hope, build genuine connections and help people work towards positive and lasting recovery outcomes.
About the Role
As a Peer Navigator, you'll provide authentic, recovery-focused support by drawing on your own lived experience and helping clients build confidence, resilience and hope for the future. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will:
- Provide one-on-one peer support and encouragement.
- Build genuine, trusting relationships with clients.
- Support people to identify strengths and work towards recovery goals.
- Assist with the delivery of group programs and activities.
- Advocate for clients and help amplify their voices.
- Promote a recovery-oriented and inclusive service environment.
- Work collaboratively with residential and clinical team members.
- Encourage engagement with treatment, recovery supports and community connections.
About You
You understand the challenges of recovery and the powerful role lived experience can play in supporting others. Most importantly, you're passionate about helping people find hope, build confidence and achieve meaningful change.
You'll bring
- Lived experience of alcohol and other drug recovery.
- The ability to share your experience in a safe, purposeful and professional way.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- A compassionate, respectful and non-judgemental approach.
- The ability to build rapport with people from diverse backgrounds.
- Confidence working independently and as part of a team.
- A willingness to learn and contribute positively to a recovery-focused environment.
Desirable
- Certificate IV in Alcohol and Other Drugs or a related qualification.
- Previous experience in peer support, community services or a lived experience role.
- Experience facilitating groups.
- Knowledge of trauma-informed practice.
