About Callida
Callida is a Canberra-based consulting firm helping government solve complex challenges across strategy and operations, policy and programs, digital transformation, data analytics, business systems improvement, financial advisory, procurement, project delivery, and cyber and technology risk.
We partner with governments and the private sector to navigate complex challenges and deliver practical, meaningful outcomes for our clients and the Australian community. Our work is underpinned by strong relationships, deep expertise and a commitment to quality.
Our purpose is to do work that enables our families, community and country to thrive. We bring this purpose to life through a people-first culture that values individuality, flexibility and collaboration while maintaining high expectations for performance and client outcomes.
About the role
Reporting to the People and Culture Manager, the People and Culture Coordinator supports the delivery of consistent and effective People and Culture services across the employee lifecycle, while also contributing to office-based activities.
This role provides broad coordination and support across the People and Culture function, contributing to the effective delivery of people initiatives, processes and services. Working closely with employees and the Corporate Services team, you will help ensure People and Culture activities are well coordinated, information is accurate and accessible, and support is delivered in a timely and professional manner. Beyond day-to-day coordination, you will have opportunities to contribute to workforce initiatives, employee engagement, learning and development, process improvement and the ongoing evolution of Callida’s People and Culture function.
About you
This position would suit someone looking to continue growing their career in People and Culture and broaden their experience across the employee lifecycle. You will bring experience in a People and Culture, HR administration or coordination role, ideally within a professional services or consulting environment, and an interest in building broader capability across employee experience and people initiatives.
Organised and proactive, you will have strong attention to detail and be comfortable managing competing priorities and deadlines. You will take ownership of your responsibilities, use sound judgement and handle sensitive information with professionalism and discretion.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills will enable you to build positive working relationships with employees and stakeholders. You will be comfortable working independently while recognising when a matter requires further guidance or escalation to the People and Culture Manager.
Experience using Microsoft Office, HR systems and SharePoint will support your success in the role, along with an interest in using technology, such as AI, to improve processes and ways of working.
Most importantly, you will be eager to learn, open to feedback and committed to continuing to develop your People and Culture capability.
Key Responsibilities

- Prepare employment contracts, letters and other People and Culture documentation accurately and within required timeframes.
- Maintain accurate and complete employee information across Callida’s systems, SharePoint lists, records and personnel files.

- Coordinate onboarding and offboarding activities with relevant stakeholders, ensuring documentation, systems access, background checks and other required actions are completed.
- Support the administration of performance reviews, goal setting, learning and development, employee engagement and other People and Culture programs.
- Prepare and maintain reports, spreadsheets, organisational charts and workforce information.
- Maintain current People and Culture policies, procedures, templates and employee resources on the Callida Hub and other relevant platforms.
- Monitor important dates and compliance requirements, including probation periods, background checks, training obligations and employment documentation.
- Review People and Culture processes and resources, seeking feedback and identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, consistency and the employee experience.
- Support the People and Culture Manager and wider Corporate Services team with priority people and office-based activities as required.
