People & Culture Officer - Workplace Relations

Location: Tamworth, NSW THE OPPORTUNITY

COULD THIS BE YOU? Tamworth Regional Council is seeking a capable and customer-focused People & Culture Officer – Workplace Relations to provide high-level administrative support across a diverse range of workplace matters.

This opportunity would suit an exceptional administrator with experience in human resources, legal administration, workplace relations, governance, compliance or legislative administration who is ready to apply their transferable skills in a contemporary People & Culture environment.

Working closely with our People & Culture Business Partners, you will assist with:

- Triaging workplace relations enquiries and supporting timely, accurate responses
- Interpreting and applying legislation, industrial instruments, policies and procedures
- Preparing workplace change plans, employee correspondence and consultation documentation
- Supporting employee relations and performance matters under the guidance of senior team members
- Assisting with job design, position evaluation and organisational structure processes
- Researching workplace matters and preparing explicit advice and supporting documentation
- Identifying opportunities to strengthen processes, service delivery and the employee experience

TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL NEED

- Diploma in human resources, business, law, legal studies or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience
- Drivers Licence
- Working With Children Check (WWCC)
- Excellent attention to detail, sound judgement and the ability to handle sensitive information appropriately
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to confidently manage competing priorities
- The ability to work collaboratively, use initiative and escalate matters when required.

Previous experience in human resources or local government will be highly regarded; however, it is not essential. We are equally interested in candidates who bring strong administration,

Salary range: Grade 12 - 14 - $1,495.60 - $1,817.60 per annum plus 12% superannuation for a 35 hour work week . Salary may be negotiated based on skills, experience and your value to our organisation.

Flexible working arrangements will be considered by mutual agreement and according to operational requirements.
