Job Description
Overview
n
Let's be honest for a second... You've probably seen a few "Delivery Manager" roles that quietly expect you to still be the smartest technical person in the room. This isn't one of those. This is a people-first delivery leadership role, where your success comes from building and steering a high-performing team across development, SharePoint, and AI, aligning delivery with the business, and making sure work lands the way it's meant to (without relying on late-night heroics).
n
You'll still understand the tech, but your real job is getting the best out of people, creating clarity, and keeping delivery moving forward when things inevitably get messy.
n
About First Focus
n First Focus is Australia's leading mid-market MSP, with over 15 years of consistent growth and a team of 360+ legends across Australia, Recent Zealand, and the Philippines.
n
We're known for doing things a little differently, less red tape, more trust; less politics, more progress. People here are informed, aligned, supported, and actually rewarded for doing great work.
n
We take our values seriously, especially Win Together, because delivery only works when everyone's pulling in the same direction. You'll see what we mean pretty quickly: https://www.firstfocus.com.au/about-us/
n
Why this role is worth your time
n
n
- You'll lead a multidisciplinary team (dev, SharePoint, AI), with a clear focus on performance, growth, and accountability
n
- You'll have real influence over how delivery is done, not just tracked
n
- You'll help shape AI initiatives that actually get used, not just talked about
n
- You'll work closely with PMs and consultants to create alignment, not friction
n
- You'll build a team culture where people know what good looks like, and actually hit it
n
- You'll still stay close to the work, but you won't be expected to be the deepest technical expert in the room
n
- You'll lead a team that's big enough to matter,
small enough to know everyone's name
n
n
What you'll be doing
n
n
- Leading, mentoring, and developing a team of developers, SharePoint engineers, and AI specialists
n
- Creating clarity around priorities, expectations, and what "good delivery" actually looks like
n
- Running regular 1:1s, performance reviews, and career planning (yes, the meaningful kind)
n
- Partnering with Project Managers, Consultants, and the PMO to keep delivery on track
n
- Translating high-level requirements into clear, actionable work for your team
n
- Managing capacity, resourcing, and priorities across multiple workstreams
n
- Identifying risks early and removing blockers before they become "urgent"
n
- Ensuring consistent delivery standards, documentation, and quality across outputs
n
- Supporting the translation of requirements into actionable work, without needing to do the work yourself
n
- Driving practical AI outcomes that integrate into real-world service delivery
n
n
Requirements
n
What you'll bring
n
n
- 5+ years' experience leading technical teams in a delivery-focused environment
n
- Proven experience managing multidisciplinary teams (dev, platform, or similar)
n
- Strong operational and delivery management capability
n
- Experience working alongside PMs, consultants, and structured PMO environments
n
- Excellent communication skills, you can translate between tech, business, and humans
n
- A calm, pragmatic approach to problem solving (no drama, just solutions)
n
n
Nice to have
n
n
- MSP or services-based environment experience
n
- Familiarity with Microsoft 365 or SharePoint ecosystems
n
- Exposure to AI, automation, or workflow platforms
n
- Understanding of modern development and delivery practices (without needing to be hands-on)
n
n
What Success Looks Like
n
n
- A high-performing, engaged team that knows what's expected and delivers consistently
n
- Projects delivered on time, to scope, without last-minute heroics
n
- Strong collaboration between consultants, PMs, and technical teams
n
- A team that's engaged, accountable, and actually enjoys working together
n
- Clear visibility across delivery, risks, and capacity
n
- AI and platform initiatives that deliver practical value, not just good intentions
n
n
Benefits
n
n
- Competitive salary package including $170,000 + other benefits
n
- Free access to Uprise, including 1:1 coaching with psychologists or counsellors
n
- Flexible working for real work-life balance
