About the Role
n
We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to own and evolve our client transition capability across Registry, Managed Funds, and Employee Share Schemes (ESS).
n
This is a hands‐on role focused on designing and building the systems that power large-scale data migrations, while taking end-to-end ownership of migration delivery. Every transition is unique, complex, and time‐critical, requiring strong engineering judgement, deep data expertise, and the ability to deliver high-quality outcomes under pressure.
n
You will operate at the intersection of software engineering, data, and real‐world execution, playing a critical role in onboarding current clients onto the Automic platform.
n
Working Pattern
n
n
- Tuesday to Saturday working week
n
- Saturday availability essential, as critical client migrations are typically executed on weekends
n
- Weekdays focused on engineering, tooling, automation, and platform enhancements
n
n

- Data processing, transformation, and pipeline design

- Strong focus on data structures, performance, and scalability

Key Responsibilities
n
n
- Design, build, and enhance migration tooling using Java and Spring Boot
n
- Develop scalable data pipelines for ingestion, transformation, validation, reconciliation, and loading
n
- Lead complex client transitions from planning through to successful delivery
n
- Analyse, map, and reconcile large, complex datasets from incumbent platforms
n
- Build reusable frameworks and automation to improve migration efficiency, quality, and scalability
n
- Drive performance, resilience, auditability, and data integrity across migration processes
n
- Contribute to a cloud‐native engineering environment leveraging AWS
n
- Partner with Product, Operations, and Implementation teams to ensure successful migration outcomes
n
- Continuously improve migration tooling, processes, and platform capabilities
n
n
About You
n

- Strong experience developing backend applications using Java and Spring Boot
n
- Experience building data‐intensive systems and processing large datasets
n
- Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and scalable system design
n
- Excellent problem‐solving skills with the ability to navigate complex data challenges
n
- Experience working in time‐critical environments and delivering high-quality outcomes
n
- A proactive, ownership‐focused mindset with a passion for continuous improvement
n
- Experience with data migration, ETL, integration, or transformation solutions highly regarded
n
- Exposure to AWS and cloud‐native architecture highly regarded
n
