We are seeking an experienced Diesel Fitter / Heavy Vehicle Mechanic to join our Cairns-based workshop team. About the Role

n

Reporting to the Workshop Supervisor, you will be part of the team responsible for maintaining the safety, reliability and performance of our fleet.

n

Key Responsibilities

n

n
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical faults.
n
- Perform servicing,



repairs and preventative maintenance on heavy earthmoving equipment, plant and vehicles.
n
- Disassemble, repair and reassemble machinery and components.
n
- Conduct workshop and field service work as required.
n
- Complete maintenance records and associated documentation accurately.
n
- Assist with parts and consumables management.
n
- Maintain workshop tools and equipment in a safe and serviceable condition.
n
- Participate in toolbox talks, safety meetings and training activities.
n
- Comply with all company HSEQ requirements and safe work practices.
n

About You

n

To be successful in this role, you will possess:

n

n
- Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade, Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology, or equivalent trade qualification.
n
- Demonstrated experience servicing and repairing heavy vehicles, earthmoving plant, civil construction equipment or similar machinery.
n
- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
n
- Current driver's licence (HR licence highly regarded).
n
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
n
- Strong commitment to safety, quality and attention to detail.
n
- Reliable work ethic with a positive, can-do attitude.
n
- White Card and relevant site-based tickets advantageous.
n
