About the role The Mater Department of Physiotherapy is currently seeking motivated and team-orientated New Graduate Physiotherapists to join their dynamic team. These positions are available as full-time 2-year fixed-term contracts commencing 4th January 2027
You will be joining a team of 100+ remarkable people who service the physiotherapy needs of five Mater South Brisbane Hospitals (Mater Hospital Brisbane, Mater Mothers’ Hospital, Mater Mothers’ Private Brisbane, Mater Children’s Private Brisbane and Mater Private Rehabilitation). We also provide outpatient services within the Allied Health Clinic (public outpatients) and Health & Wellness Clinic (private outpatients). Many of our team members take additional advantage of supported opportunities to be involved in, research, clinical education, simulation, project work and improvement activities.
Please note, this role requires participation in a three-month rotation to Roma Hospital within the South West Hospital and Health district, as well as participation in weekend and on-call rosters as required. Second-year rotations may vary, and there may also be a requirement to complete a three-month rotation at Mater Springfield in 2028. Flexibility to participate in these rotations and roster requirements is an essential component of the graduate program.
Salary $44.99 (HP3.1, increasing to $46.11 from 1/09/26) per hour plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!
What you’ll be doing The successful applicant will be responsible for managing a clinical caseload whilst contributing to quality improvement initiatives and best practice models of Physiotherapy care. Clinical responsibilities may include the provision of physiotherapy care across a range of clinical areas, including both public and private inpatients and public outpatients.
About you The successful applicant will demonstrate:
- Graduate-entry level of knowledge, expertise and skill, in Physiotherapy clinical service provision relevant to Mater Health services
- Commitment to continuous quality improvement, evidence-based practice and professional development
- Exceptional interpersonal, communication (both verbal and written) and time management skills, including the ability to work collaboratively within the Physiotherapy Department and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Personal attributes that align with our organisational and department values
To be eligible for this position, applicants must have:
- A recognised degree in Physiotherapy (you must have completed your first university undergraduate course or graduate-entry qualification (whether in Australia or internationally) between January 2026 to January 2027
- Eligibility and current registration with the Physiotherapy Board of Australia (AHPRA)
- Eligibility to receive a Medicare provider number
- A class C motor vehicle license. Proof of this endorsement must be provided before commencement of duty
