About the role

We are seeking an experienced Pizza Chef to join our team at our new Italian restaurant in Miami, QLD 4220. This is a full-time position offering an exciting opportunity to be part of a brand-new establishment from its opening.

As Pizza

Chef, you will be the driving force behind our pizza operation, responsible for creating authentic Italian pizzas that meet our exacting standards. This role is central to our kitchen operations and directly impacts the dining experience of our guests. You will work in a fast-paced, dynamic kitchen setting where precision, consistency and creativity are highly valued.

Key responsibilities

- Prepare and cook a variety of pizzas using traditional Italian techniques and authentic wood-fired oven
- Manage pizza dough preparation, including mixing, proofing and shaping, ensuring consistency and quality across all products
- Prepare and portion pizza toppings, sauces and other pizza-related ingredients according to standardised recipes
- Maintain strict adherence to food safety standards, hygiene protocols and health regulations throughout all food preparation and storage
- Monitor cooking temperatures and times to ensure pizzas are cooked to perfection and delivered promptly to customers




- Collaborate with kitchen team members to coordinate service flow and ensure timely delivery of meals during service periods
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of your station, equipment and surrounding kitchen areas at all times
- Support the head chef in menu development and potentially suggest new pizza creations that align with our Italian philosophy
- Train and mentor junior kitchen staff on pizza preparation techniques when required
- Monitor stock levels of pizza ingredients and communicate needs to management to ensure adequate supplies

What we're looking for

- Proven experience as a Pizza Chef or in a similar pizza preparation role within a restaurant or hospitality setting
- Strong knowledge of authentic Italian pizza-making techniques, including dough fermentation and traditional cooking methods
- Experience working with wood-fired ovens or specialist pizza ovens is highly desirable
- Excellent understanding of food safety and hygiene standards, with relevant certifications preferred
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment whilst maintaining high quality standards
- Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to juggle multiple tasks during service
- A creative mindset with willingness to contribute ideas for new menu items




- Excellent communication and teamwork skills with the ability to work collaboratively with kitchen and front-of-house staff
- Flexibility with shift times, including evenings, weekends and public holidays as required by the restaurant
- A genuine passion for Italian cuisine and commitment to delivering exceptional culinary experiences
- Certificate in Commercial Cookery or equivalent qualification is preferred
