Job Description

RECRUITZ AUSTRALIA The Welder will be based from our operations in Condell Park, Western Sydney, with work performed at various construction and project locations as required. The successful applicant will undertake welding, fabrication, repair and related metalwork activities required to support our steel fixing and construction operations.

Task & responsibilities

The position will include, but not limited to:

- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings, plans, specifications and job instructions to determine welding and fabrication requirements.
- Selecting, preparing and setting up appropriate welding equipment and materials for each task.
- Measuring, marking, cutting, shaping and preparing metal components prior to welding.
- Performing welding using appropriate techniques and processes to join steel and other metal components.
- Fabricating, assembling and repairing metal components and structural steel items used in construction projects.
- Aligning and positioning components using measuring equipment, jigs and other tools prior to welding.
- Inspecting welds and completed work to ensure appropriate strength, dimensions, finish and compliance with project specifications.
- Grinding, cleaning and finishing welded joints and fabricated components as required.
- Identifying defects or damage in metal components and undertaking appropriate repairs.
- Maintaining welding equipment, tools and work areas in safe and serviceable condition.
- Working collaboratively with steel fixers, formworkers,



supervisors and other construction personnel to complete project requirements.
- Following workplace health and safety procedures, site requirements and safe work practices at all times.
- Travelling to and working at various project locations across Sydney and surrounding areas as required.

Qualification & experience

To be considered for this position, applicants should have:

- A relevant trade qualification in welding, fabrication or a closely related field.
- A minimum of one year of relevant welding experience, although applicants with three or more years of relevant experience are strongly preferred.
- Practical experience with welding and fabrication of steel components.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications and measurements.
- Good knowledge of welding equipment, tools and safe welding practices.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality workmanship.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a construction team.
- Good communication and time-management skills.
- Willingness and ability to work at different project locations as required.
- A strong commitment to workplace health and safety.
