About the role
This is an opportunity for a senior resource geologist to take a visible technical leadership role with a specialist mining consultancy, while remaining closely involved in hands-on modelling, estimation and client work.
Key responsibilities
- Act as JORC (2012) Competent Person for resource estimates and public reporting
- Ensure technical rigour, defensibility and compliance across all resource work
- Provide independent technical review and due diligence support
- Lead, review and approve geological interpretations, domaining, resource estimation and block models
- Provide direct technical advice to clients, often at senior technical and executive level
- Mentor and technically guide less experienced geologists
- Contribute to business development through technical credibility and client trust
- Present findings clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Support studies, due diligence, project evaluations and investment decisions
- Some travel between offices will be required; Brisbane or Perth based candidates are preferred
About you
- Bachelor of Science (Geology or equivalent)
- Eligibility for, or current status as, JORC Competent Person
- Typically 10–20+ years' industry experience, including consulting experience
- Demonstrated experience in JORC-compliant resource estimation and reporting
- Robust metalliferous mining experience (precious and/or base metals)
- Advanced capability in Micromine and/or Datamine (strongly preferred)
- Strong understanding of geostatistics and estimation methodologies
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Eligibility for membership with AusIMM
- Comfort operating in a client-facing consulting environment
