About the role
Design and deliver complex structural engineering solutions across a range of projects, including commercial, industrial, residential, and infrastructure developments. Lead structural assessments, site inspections, investigations, and condition assessments, providing practical and technically sound recommendations. Undertake and review the design of steel, reinforced concrete, aluminium, composite, and other structural systems.
Perform and review structural modelling, static and dynamic analysis, and complex structural design. Provide technical leadership and oversight across structural projects, ensuring designs meet relevant Australian Standards, codes, legislation, and client requirements.
Key responsibilities
- Design and deliver complex structural engineering solutions across commercial, industrial, residential, and infrastructure developments
- Lead structural assessments, site inspections, investigations, and condition assessments
- Undertake and review the design of steel, reinforced concrete, aluminium, composite, and other structural systems
- Perform and review structural modelling, static and energetic analysis, and complex structural design
- Provide technical leadership and oversight across structural projects, ensuring compliance with Australian Standards, codes, and legislation
- Manage and oversee the preparation of engineering documentation, including calculations, drawings, specifications, and technical reports
- Lead and participate in safety-in-design reviews and risk assessments
- Manage project delivery, including scope, programme, budgets, resourcing, and client expectations
- Provide technical guidance, coaching, and mentoring to engineers, graduates, and drafting personnel
- Liaise directly with clients, contractors, consultants, authorities, and other stakeholders to provide technical advice
About you
- 10+ years' experience in structural engineering, with demonstrated experience leading complex projects
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Structural/Civil Engineering
- Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) status or demonstrated pathway towards Chartered status is highly desirable
- Strong technical knowledge of Australian Standards, building codes, and structural engineering practices
- Demonstrated experience in the design and assessment of steel, reinforced concrete, aluminium, and composite structures
- Proven ability to lead projects from concept through to completion, including managing scope, budgets, programmes, and deliverables
- Strong client management and stakeholder engagement skills
- Demonstrated business development experience, including preparing fee proposals, tenders, and technical submissions
- Proven ability to provide technical leadership and mentor engineers and drafting personnel
- Current NSW driver's licence
