ABOUT THE ROLE

n

We're seeking an experienced Financial Accountant to join our Head office team, reporting to the Financial Controller. This is a pivotal role in transforming our Finance function during an exciting growth phase.

n

You'll work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment where precision meets strategic thinking. Working closely with internal stakeholders and audit partners, you'll help establish strong financial control frameworks as we scale.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

n

n
- Own month-end close procedures, ensuring journals, accruals and reconciliations are completed accurately and on time
n
- Maintain the general ledger with accuracy, completeness, and compliance with accounting standards
n
- Manage balance sheet reconciliations, investigate variances, and resolve issues promptly
n
- Prepare financial statements, management reports, and budget variance analysis
n
- Coordinate audit schedules and liaise directly with auditors
n
- Develop budgets and financial forecasts aligned with business objectives
n
- Identify and implement process improvements to drive efficiencies
n




- Support strategic projects and initiatives that drive business growth
n

ABOUT YOU

n

n
- Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Accounting or Finance
n
- 4+ years accounting experience, preferably in mid-to-large retail organisations
n
- Solid technical accounting knowledge and ability to apply accounting standards
n
- Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with accounting software
n
- Strong analytical skills with aptitude for interpreting complex data
n
- Excellent communication skills - able to present financial information to non-financial stakeholders
n
- Proactive problem solver who identifies root causes and implements lasting solutions
n
- Team player who thrives in dynamic, transformational environments
