Job Description
We're Hiring: Occupational Therapist (Casual) – Wonder Kidz
n
Location: North Melbourne, VIC
n
Position: Casual (with opportunity for ongoing employment)
n
Neuroaffirming | Child‐Led | Community‐Based | Flexible
n
At Wonder Kidz, we don't believe children need to fit into our programs—we create programs that fit around the child.
n
We're looking for an Occupational Therapist who shares our passion for supporting neurodiverse children and young people through a child‐led, strengths‐based, team-oriented, and naturalistic approach. This role offers the unique opportunity to deliver therapy where children learn best—in real‐life environments, meaningful relationships, and authentic community experiences.
n
Who We Are
n
Wonder Kidz is more than a service—it's a community built on our core values:
n
n
- Being – Supporting children to be authentically themselves without judgment or expectations.
n
- Belonging – Creating safe spaces where every child feels accepted, connected, and valued.
n
- Becoming – Empowering children to build confidence, independence, and meaningful life skills at their own pace.
n
n
We provide social programs, community access, camps, group programs, and therapeutic supports for neurodiverse children and young people across Melbourne.
n
What Makes This Role Different?
n
At Wonder Kidz, therapy doesn't happen only at a desk.
n
n
- Supporting a child to develop emotional regulation while exploring the community
n
- Building independence skills through real‐life experiences
n
- Coaching families and support teams in natural environments
n
- Running social groups that focus on genuine connection rather than compliance
n
- Collaborating with educators, families, support coordinators, and allied health professionals to create meaningful outcomes
n
- Helping shape innovative therapeutic programs that blend therapy with fun, belonging, and participation
n
n
We're Looking For Someone Who
n
n
- Is an AHPRA‐registered Occupational Therapist
n
- Has experience working with neurodiverse children and young people
n
- Values neuroaffirming, strengths‐based practice
n
- Enjoys working collaboratively with families and multidisciplinary teams
n
- Thinks outside the therapy room and embraces community‐based supports
n
- Is passionate about helping children build confidence, independence, and social connection
n
- Is available for weekend work and flexible community‐based supports
n
n
What We Offer
n
n
- Opportunity to help shape and grow our new therapy services
n
- Supportive, values‐driven team culture
n
- Regular supervision and professional development
n
- Flexible and varied work environments
n
- The chance to make a genuine difference in the lives of children and families
n
- A workplace where relationships, creativity, and authentic connection matter as much as clinical skills
n
n
If you're looking for a role where therapy feels meaningful, collaborative, and genuinely child‐led, we'd love to hear from you.
