Your prospect:
This position is a temporary role within regional teams aligned to the Education Strategy's Ready for the future priority that aims to address the following objectives:
- Promoting strong school-industry partnerships; and
- Supporting student transitions from school onto next steps into further education, training and employment.
This role aims to contribute to the work of the Senior Schooling team by strengthening a regional approach to school-industry partnerships in local priority industry areas to build Queensland state school students' exposure to career opportunities and workforce readiness, strengthening school to work transitions.
Responsibilities Include:
The team member will have responsibility for the following during this period:
- Leading a regional, coordinated approach to building and strengthening school industry partnerships in schools aligned to skills shortage areas that bring about employment outcomes;
- Leading and contributing to established large-scale collaboration models across the region to create opportunities for schools and students;
- Identifying and fostering responsive and sustainable school, further education and training, and industry partnerships that support student' successful school to work transitions;
- Establishing reciprocal relationships with a broad range of local stakeholders such as Regional Jobs Committees, key industry and further education and training partners, employers, Chambers of Commerce, and DTET regional officers;
- Facilitating a regional reference group, to foster sustainable school-industry partnerships and connect pipelines for employment in priority industry areas; and
- Collaborating with RSIP Manager (State) and contributing to the statewide team of Managers to share knowledge, build systems and expand opportunities where appropriate.
This initiative will strengthen local school-industry partnerships and support school to work transitions that respond to local industry needs in priority areas and contribute to the government priorities and strategies for building Queensland's workforce.
