The role
n
We're looking for a skilled and motivated Cloud Software Engineer to join a high‐profile national law firm with a strong reputation in the legal industry. You'll be part of an ambitious, agile team responsible for designing, building and operating in‐house web applications and services on a modern, cloud‐native, API‐first architecture running on Microsoft Azure. These applications are critical to the firm's operations and are built and delivered through automated infrastructure‐as‐code and CI/CD pipelines.

Key Responsibilities
n
n
- Design, develop and operate robust, scalable cloud‐native applications and services on Microsoft Azure across the full software development lifecycle.
n
- Build and maintain infrastructure as code (Bicep) so that environments are repeatable, version‐controlled and self‐documenting.
n
- Design, build and operate CI/CD pipelines that automate build, test, security scanning and deployment from commit to production.
n
- Champion DevOps practices across the team – automation, monitoring, observability, infrastructure‐as‐code and a culture of continuous improvement and shared ownership.
n
- Design,
build and secure REST APIs that power our applications and serve as integration points for internal systems and AI agents.
n
- Develop agentic AI capabilities – integrating large language models, tool/function calling and autonomous agent orchestration with our APIs and data platforms.
n
- Collaborate with developers and stakeholders to define requirements and deliver high‐quality solutions.
n
- Troubleshoot, debug and resolve issues across applications, pipelines and cloud infrastructure.
n
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to the continuous improvement of development and DevOps practices.
n
- Stay up to date with emerging cloud, DevOps and AI technologies and propose innovative solutions to business challenges.

Required Technical Skills
n
n
- Hands‐on experience deploying, configuring and operating applications and services on Microsoft Azure (App Services, Functions, Storage, Cosmos DB, Key Vault, Application Insights, API Management and Logic Apps).
n
- Experience with infrastructure as code – provisioning and managing Azure resources using Bicep.
n
- Proven experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps and/or GitHub Actions, including automated build, test and deployment, and managing source code in Git.
n
- Strong DevOps background – automation, release management, environment configuration, secrets management, monitoring and observability.
n
- Demonstrated experience designing, building and securing REST APIs (authentication, authorisation, versioning and documentation).
n
- Exposure to or strong interest in agentic AI – building with large language models, retrieval‐augmented generation, and tool/function calling.
n
- Solid backend development experience in C#/.NET (.NET 8/9/10 and .NET Framework 4.6).

Nice to have

- Azure certifications (e.g. AZ‐204, AZ‐400, AI‐102).
n
- Experience integrating AI agents with enterprise systems and data sources.
