Product Development & Production Assistant (Mandarin Speaking)

We are an apparel group with an established clothing wholesale business and two emerging brands operating across premium and contemporary streetwear.

We are seeking a highly organised and detail-driven Product Development & Production Assistant to support the design team across both brands and the wholesale business, playing a key role in day-to-day product development and production execution.

This is a full-time role focused on supplier communication, sampling support, fabric sourcing, and production coordination, working closely with offshore factories in China.

Key Responsibilities

Supplier Communication & Mandarin Support

- Communicate daily with offshore suppliers in Mandarin (spoken and written)
- Translate product development updates, fit feedback, and technical requirements
- Follow up on sampling, pricing, and production timelines
- Ensure smooth communication between internal teams and manufacturing partners

Product Development & Sampling

- Support proto, SMS, PPS, and production sample stages
- Measure garments and document detailed fit comments
- Assist with tech pack updates, construction notes, and sample revisions
- Maintain accuracy across sizing, specifications, and consistency

Fabric & Trim Sourcing

- Assist with sourcing fabrics, trims, and components aligned with brand standards
- Organise swatches, supplier options,



and costing information
- Maintain fabric and trim libraries

Production Support

- Track critical path timelines and support production readiness
- Assist with bulk approvals, QC processes, and final sign-off
- Flag risks in quality, fit, or supplier execution early
- Support care label approvals, packaging requirements, and production details

About You

- 1+ years' experience in product development, garment production, or factory liaison roles
- Strong understanding of garment construction, fit, and technical production processes
- Fluent Mandarin Chinese (spoken and written) is essential
- Experience working with offshore suppliers, particularly in China
- Highly organised and confident managing multiple product streams
- Comfortable working with tech packs, measurements, and production documentation
- Proactive, reliable, and solutions-focused
- Fashion Design or related degree would be highly regarded

Experience in premium or contemporary fashion with strong fabric and fit standards is highly regarded.
