Production Operator (Feedmill)

About the Role

Our Client, Mount Boothby Pastoral is seeking a reliable and experienced Feedmill Production Operator to join our agricultural operation in South Australia.

The successful applicant will be responsible for operating and monitoring an automated, computer-controlled feedmill to ensure the efficient and safe production of high-quality livestock feed for our piggery operations.

This is a hands-on role involving feed production, equipment monitoring, basic troubleshooting, raw material management, routine maintenance and maintaining a safe and clean feedmill environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Operate and monitor automated and computer-controlled feedmill production systems.

- Produce livestock feed according to production schedules and required quality standards.

- Monitor augers, conveyors, mixers, electric motors and associated equipment.

- Identify and troubleshoot minor equipment and operational faults.

- Perform routine inspections and basic preventative maintenance.

- Carry out basic mechanical adjustments where required.

- Coordinate feed production and delivery schedules with farm staff.

- Monitor raw material and ingredient stock levels.

- Assist with ordering and receiving raw materials.

- Maintain accurate production, stock and inventory records.

- Maintain the feedmill,



equipment and feed delivery areas in a clean and safe condition.

- Follow workplace health and safety procedures and quality assurance requirements.

- Report equipment faults, production issues and maintenance requirements to management.

Skills &

Experience

- Previous experience operating production, manufacturing or feedmill equipment.

- Experience in a livestock feedmill, agricultural or manufacturing environment is highly regarded.

- Strong mechanical aptitude and practical troubleshooting skills.

- Experience operating automated or computer-controlled machinery.

- Basic computer literacy and ability to use production control systems.

- Good organisational and time-management skills.

- Ability to work independently and prioritise tasks.

- Good communication and teamwork skills.

- Solid commitment to workplace health and safety.

- Ability to work in a dusty, noisy and physically demanding agricultural manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

- Relevant agricultural, manufacturing, feedmill or mechanical qualifications will be considered.

- Relevant industry experience may be considered in lieu of formal qualifications, subject to the applicant's skills and experience.
