The role involves the management of the the day-to-day operations of our asphalt batch plant. This includes ensuring safety rules are followed, production targets are met, and product quality is high. You will have a small in office team and work closely with maintenance and dispatch team.
The ROLE
- Enforces strict safety and environmental compliance rules
- Checks mix quality and handle basic quality control testing
- Lead, train and schedule plant operators and crew members
- Coordinate plant maintenance and troubleshoot mechanicla or software issues
- Keep accurate records of material inventory, truck loads and daily production output
- Ensures personal and group Safety Lead Indicator KPI's are met or exceeded
- Ensures the long-term goals and business targets are met
- Works with the Surfacing Manager to driver operational systems, efficiencies and compliance

About YOU
- Minimum five years experience working in an asphalt plant or heavy industrial environment
- Three years of supervisory or leadership experience
- Good knowledge of asphalt mix designs, plant controls, plant maintenance and aggregate materials
- Strong focus on workplace safety
- Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings and overtime during peak paving season
- Highly developed leadership and team building skills with excellent relationship management abilities
- Practical knowledge of regulatory governance, legislative requirements, HSEQ legislation/regulations/standards, codes of practice and compliance as well as reporting requirements
- Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office
- Current High Risk Forklift Licence or FEL ticket is highly desirable (but not essential)
- Construction Industry White Card
- Current drivers licence
Important other information
- Although the role is being advertised in multiple states the role is located in Southern Tasmania (greater Hobart area)
- If you are living outside of Tasmania and are the successful candidate we will contribute towards your relocation
- There is either a Company vehicle (full private usage in Tasmania) or equivalent vehicle allowance - both with fuel card
