Role Description The Production Technician is a full-time, on-site role based in Melbourne, VIC, responsible for supporting the manufacture of high-quality cable assemblies, interconnect components, and custom enclosures. Day-to-day tasks include operating production equipment, assembling and wiring components according to technical drawings and work instructions, and performing visual and functional inspections to meet company and industry standards.
The role involves monitoring production workflows, identifying and resolving minor equipment or process issues, and performing routine cleaning and basic maintenance of tools and machinery.
The Production
Technician collaborates closely with engineers, supervisors, and quality personnel to ensure products are built to specification, documentation is accurately completed, and safety procedures are followed at all times.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess solid Quality Control skills and an understanding of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP).
- Candidates should possess Troubleshooting skills and the ability to perform basic Preventive Maintenance on production equipment.
- Ability in using tools (e.g. crimp tools) and machines (e.g. presses)
- Candidates should possess effective Communication skills to work with cross-functional teams and follow technical instructions.
- Relevant experience in electronics manufacturing, cable assembly, or precision mechanical assembly is highly beneficial.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and production documentation is preferred.
- Attention to detail, adherence to safety procedures, and reliable time management are essential.
- A technical certificate or trade qualification in electronics, manufacturing, or a related field is advantageous.
