Are you an Internal Medicine Vet Specialist looking for an opportunity to work in a collaborative, well-supported referral hospital while experiencing life in Australia's capital city? ARH Canberra is seeking a board-certified or board-ready Internal Medicine Specialist to join our multidisciplinary team on a locum contract (3-6 months), starting as soon as possible. There is also the potential to transition into a permanent role if you decide Canberra and our team is the right fit for you. The Role
n
At ARH, our mission is to provide pets with the most comprehensive treatment available in a caring and professional environment. We are currently seeking a board-certified or board-eligible Internal Medicine Specialist for a clinically focused locum position,
ideally working 4-5 days per week. This role offers the opportunity to:

- Experience a modern referral hospital with excellent support staff

- Potentially transition into a longer-term role

Our Team
n
You'll be joining a well-established and collaborative specialist team, including:
n
n
- Two on-site Internal Medicine Specialists
n
- Specialists across Critical Care, Surgery, Oncology, Rehabilitation and Diagnostic Imaging
n
- A registrar, two interns, and an experienced nursing team dedicated to specialist care
n
n
Our Internal Medicine service is supported by two board-certified specialists with a strong integration between the Emergency and Critical Care (ECC) and referral services. This ensures seamless case management and excellent clinical support both during the day and after hours.

Our Hospital

ARH Canberra relocated in November 2021 to a brand-new, purpose-built Specialist and Emergency facility near the airport. Designed with specialist care in mind, our hospital includes:

- Three dedicated surgical suites
n
- Thirteen consultation rooms
n
- A fully equipped in-house laboratory
n
- Oncology Room
n
- Advanced imaging including:n n
- Ultrasound
n
- Digital radiography
n
- Endoscopy
n
- 64-slice CT scanner
n
- High-field MRI
n
n
n
We've also created a space that supports both clients and staff, including:

- A dedicated grieving room for families

- Free undercover parking

- A well-stocked snack cupboard

What We're Looking For
n
n
- A veterinary degree registerable in Australia
n
- Specialist qualifications (FANZCVS, DACVIM, or DECVIM)
n
- Or completion of residency training with plans to sit specialist exams soon
n
- Availability to work in Canberra for 3-6 months
n
n
