ACEREZ, a partnership of ACCIONA, COBRA and Endeavour Energy, has been appointed network operator by EnergyCo to design, build, finance, operate and maintain the Central-West Orana Renewable Energy Zone (REZ) transmission network. The ACCIONA COBRA Joint Venture (ACJV), the design and construct (D&C;) consortium, will design and build the Central-West Orana REZ transmission project.
The Central-West Orana Renewable Energy Zone (REZ) Transmission Project will build new high-capacity transmission lines, energy hubs and supporting infrastructure to transfer power generated by solar and wind projects to electricity consumers.
The new infrastructure is expected to be operational by 2028 and will initially unlock up to 4.5 gigawatts of new network capacity.
The project consists of 90km of 500kV overhead transmission lines and 150 km of 330kV transmission lines for generator connections, stretching from Elong Elong in the west through to Barigan Creek in the east, via an energy hub at Merotherie.
The Central-West Orana project is currently seeking dedicated Project Engineers – Civil to share their expertise within our growing Project Wide, ACEREZ Team
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure all quality and environmental aspects of the project are addressed to maintain effective operation and project delivery.
- Monitors and controls subcontractors’ performance and ensures the quality and standard of workmanship is in accordance with the specifications.
- Ensures that the appropriate personnel are in place with delegated responsibilities to guarantee quality procedures are integrated.
- Ensures that project team completes all outstanding defects as a matter of priority.
- Ensures implementation of project quality plan
- Maintain 4 week look ahead of program.
- Maintain project schedule by monitoring project progress; coordinating activities; resolving problems.
- Prepare project status reports and change orders.
- Conducts regular site meetings to foster understanding, participation, and enthusiasm.
- Provides ongoing feedback, support, counsel, through informal discussion, regular review and formal performance appraisal and encourages feedback from staff.
- Establishes and maintains a harmonious Client/ Customer relationship to assist project delivery and enhance Client satisfaction.
- Establishes and maintains close relationships with Site Supervisor(s) to drive program and results.
- Ensures work compliance with site community relations and commitments.
- Facilitates daily work plan meeting, ensure required actions are implemented.
Required Skills and Competencies
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering
- 5+ years’ experience in a site-based construction role
- Experience working on a mega Tier 1 construction projects
- Problem solving / analytical skills
- Solid verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent attitude and awareness towards safety in the workplace
- Highly developed Microsoft Office Suite skills
- Knowledge and understanding of all applicable Project policies and procedures
- Demonstrated knowledge of contractual requirements and legislation relevant to the scope
Project Engineer roles are DIDO 14 days onsite in camp style accommodation and 7 days off site, on a roster-based arrangement out of the Central West Orana Region Please note: This position is being delivered as part of a joint venture between two organisations.
