Our Energy and Resources Engineering Division is at the forefront of delivering specialist projects in gas, hydrogen, and renewable energy. These include upstream flowlines, well leases, network gathering systems, major gas transmission pipelines, above-ground processing facilities, and emerging renewable energy infrastructure.
The Opportunity
We are seeking a Project Engineer with engineering design experience in the Oil & Gas and Renewables sectors. This role is suited to someone who thrives in a dynamic environment and is ready to take ownership of complex projects from concept to delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain engineering and project management practices and standards in the organisation.
- Manage engineering design work in accordance with Australian Standards, guides and codes as appropriate, meeting industry best practice.
- Prepare engineering designs, plans, project specifications, project proposals, scopes of work and project opinion of probable cost.
- Prepare concept, feasibility and FEED documentation and obtain relevant reviews and approvals.
- Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with the Fyfe QA system and client QA and safety policies and procedures.
- Deliver projects on time, to quality standards and budget requirements.
- Appropriate use of the Fyfe Project Tracker System, including management of notes and tasks.
- Review project costs and supply advice as requested or identified.
- Process monthly claims.
- Provide Project Manager and client with reports and project updates as required.
- Conduct site inspections with clients, contractors, council and regulatory authorities where required.
- Conduct risk assessments.
- Attend and contribute to HAZOPs as required.
About You
- Bachelors degree in engineering (Process, Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or related discipline).
- 2 - 5 years experience in engineering design within Oil & Gas and/or Renewable Energy.
- Ability to prepare engineering designs, project specifications, FEED documentation and cost estimates.
- Sound knowledge of Australian Standards and relevant industry codes.
- Experience conducting site inspections, risk assessments, and contributing to HAZOP reviews.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Detail-oriented with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
