We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the delivery of aged care, retirement living and seniors living projects from project inception through to completion. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the full project lifecycle, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the required quality standards.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Project Manager with strong experience in construction, development or consultancy who is passionate about delivering high-quality environments for the aged care and retirement living sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage aged care, retirement living and seniors living projects from feasibility, design and planning through to construction, completion and handover.
- Develop and manage project plans, budgets, programmes, procurement strategies and project controls.
- Coordinate architects, consultants, contractors, subcontractors, suppliers and other project stakeholders.
- Manage the design development process, ensuring designs meet project requirements, relevant standards, regulations and client expectations.
- Monitor project progress against programme, budget, scope and quality requirements.
- Identify and proactively manage project risks, issues, variations and opportunities.
- Manage procurement and tender processes, including contractor and consultant appointments.
- Review construction methodologies, programmes, cost plans and project documentation.
- Lead project meetings and provide regular progress reports to clients and senior stakeholders.
- Manage contract administration, variations, claims and commercial matters in collaboration with the relevant commercial/QS teams.
- Ensure projects comply with relevant building codes, planning requirements, health and safety legislation and aged care/seniors living requirements.
- Coordinate approvals, statutory authorities and regulatory stakeholders where required.
- Monitor construction quality, safety and compliance throughout project delivery.
- Manage commissioning, practical completion, defects, handover and close-out activities.
- Maintain strong client relationships and provide clear, commercially focused project advice.
- Support business development activities, including proposals, client presentations and identifying future project opportunities.
Skills & Experience
- Degree qualification in Construction Management, Project Management, Engineering, Architecture, Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
- Approximately 7–12+ years' experience in project management within the construction or property sector.
- Proven experience managing projects through the full development and construction lifecycle.
- Previous experience delivering aged care, retirement living, seniors living, healthcare or similarly complex projects is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of construction processes, contracts, procurement, design management and project controls.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple stakeholders and project teams.
- Strong commercial, financial and risk management capability.
- Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver projects within challenging timeframes.
- Strong knowledge of relevant building codes, regulations, WHS requirements and industry standards.
