About the role
Central Highlands Development Corporation (CHDC) is the lead economic and tourism development agency for the Central Highlands, Queensland.
CHDC's full-time Future Economy Coordinator will be responsible for leading the delivery of Frontier CQ, a new initiative to drive a future-focused Central Highlands economy. The role will bring Frontier CQ's roadmap to life by building strong partnerships, coordinating regional innovation activity and supporting economic diversification across the region.
Duties/Key Responsibilities
- Frontier CQ Program Leadership: Lead the delivery of Frontier CQ, ensuring activities align with CHDC's strategic priorities and regional economic goals.
- Stakeholder Network Leadership: Build and coordinate a regional innovation network, fostering collaboration across industry, government, education and community partners.
- Regional Engagement & Advocacy:
Represent CHDC in innovation and economic development forums, strengthening the region's profile and influence.
- Research, Insights & Future Planning: Monitor trends, identify opportunities and provide strategic insights to support innovation, investment and economic diversification.
- Industry Growth & Innovation: Develop and deliver initiatives that support industry capability, innovation adoption and regional competitiveness.
- Communications & Reporting: Prepare high-quality reports, stakeholder communications and promotional material, while showcasing Frontier CQ's progress and outcomes.
- Team & Culture: Contribute to a positive workplace culture and represent CHDC with professionalism, integrity and collaboration.
Skills and Experience
- Qualifications and/or experience in regional development, project delivery, stakeholder engagement or a related field.
- Robust understanding of business, industry and regional economic development.
- Proven stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills.
- Ability to identify opportunities, analyse information and translate ideas into practical outcomes.
- Strong communication, organisational and Microsoft 365 skills.
- Current driver's licence.
