About the role

We are looking for a dynamic experienced Chef/Cook to join our dedicated team at Rogue Rabbit Café in Northcote and bring their quality industry experience and skills. Our cafe operates for breakfast and lunch (no dinners). In this full time position, you will need to be available to work both weekdays and weekends (no evenings).

Key responsibilities

- Food prep and food production of a la carte cooking

- Kitchen set up and breakdown pre and post service

- Practice and maintain a safe work environment

- Follow food safety practices

- Stock control and rotation

- Supervision of apprentices and kitchen attendants

- Communication with front of house and back of house staff

- Working with head chef to meet the food and kitchen budget





- Developing kitchen services standards that ensure efficiencies and compliance

About you

- Commercial Cookery Qualifications

- Experience in a similar role for at least 2 years in a fast-paced kitchen environment

- Passionate about high quality food
- A high level of hygiene standards and personal presentation

- Good explicit communicator

- Positive attitude, teamwork and ability to thrive under pressure

- Reliable, punctual and efficient

- Work fast, clean and motivate team by leading by example

- Deliver high quality dishes, consistently well
