Support safe delivery of critical renewable energy infrastructure by implementing and maintaining high-performing safety systems across a major project.

Our client is seeking an experienced Safety Advisor or Safety Manager to support the delivery of a major renewable energy infrastructure program based in Mudgee, NSW.
n
This role will support the construction team working on a significant and landmark Renewable Energy project. The position will assist in ensuring strong safety systems, compliance and culture across a range of large-scale infrastructure works.
n
The role will be involved in overseeing safety processes across key project components including generator connections, transmission network upgrades and associated infrastructure.
n
Working closely with project leadership, contractors and safety teams, the Safety Advisor / Manager will play an important role in maintaining high safety standards and supporting the safe delivery of construction activities across the program.
n
This opportunity would suit a safety professional with experience in major infrastructure, construction or energy projects, particularly those involving complex site environments.
n
This role will suit local candidates and candidates looking for DIDO Monday to Friday from Sydney, Newcastle or other suitable locations.

Years of Experience:
n
5 – 15 + years relevant experience required
n
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
n
Safety Systems & Compliance
n
n
- Support development and implementation of WHS management plans, systems and procedures
n
- Ensure compliance with organisational and regulatory WHS requirements
n
- Assist with safety due diligence relating to project delivery partners
n
- Monitor safety compliance across all personnel, contractors and consortium partners
n
n
Project Safety Oversight
n
n
- Monitor safety procedures and practices across construction activities
n
- Identify hazards and risks and elevate issues where required
n
- Assist with incident investigations and safety reporting
n
- Support accurate reporting of safety performance metrics and incidents
n
n
Safety Culture & Engagement
n
n
- Promote strong safety awareness across project teams
n
- Support development of safety training tools and initiatives
n
- Contribute to establishing a strong zero-harm safety culture
n
- Encourage continuous improvement in safety performance
n
n
Stakeholder Collaboration
n
n
- Work closely with project managers, safety teams and leadership
n
- Liaise with contractors, consortium partners and infrastructure stakeholders
n
- Support coordination with regulatory authorities where required
n
n
Qualifications and Requirements:
n
n
- 5 – 15+ years' experience in safety management within major infrastructure or construction projects
n
- Demonstrated experience supporting safety systems on large-scale greenfield infrastructure developments
n
- Knowledge of safety regulations and standards within construction or energy sectors
n
- Understanding of WHS legislation and regulatory frameworks
n
- Experience conducting safety inspections, audits and incident investigations
n
- Solid analytical, communication and stakeholder engagement skills
n
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Occupational Health & Safety or a related discipline
n
- Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety (or equivalent) desirable
n
- Experience in energy infrastructure or high-voltage transmission projects (330–500kV) highly regarded
n
