About the role
n
Maroondah 3 East is a dynamic and fast‐paced acute care environmentspecialisinginGeneral Surgery, Colorectal, Plastics, Breast, and Endocrinesurgery. We deliver high‐quality, evidence‐based postoperative care to a diverse patient cohort, supporting patients through both elective and emergency surgical pathways.

We areseekinga dedicated and compassionateRegistered Nurseto join our surgical team. In this role,
you will:
n
n
- Provide safe and comprehensive postoperative nursing care across general, colorectal, plastics, breast and endocrine surgical specialties
n
- Deliver thorough assessments, clinical decision-making, and timely interventions in a fast-paced acute setting
n
- Support patient recovery through effective pain management, wound care, drains management, education, and discharge planning
n
- Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes
n
- Contribute to maintaining a positive and supportive ward culture while upholding high standards of clinical practice
n
- Develop and extend your skills with exposure to a wide variety of surgical presentations and clinical complexities
n
n
About you
n
This role is ideal for nurses who are adaptable, proactive, and passionate about surgical nursing. Whether you are an experienced surgical nurse or looking to expand your clinical skills in a high‐acuity environment, you will be supported by an experienced leadership team and strong professional development opportunities.

To be successful in this role you willpossess:
n
n
- Current General Nursing registration with AHPRA
n
- Previous experience in a surgical area
n
- Post Graduate qualifications in relevant field (desirable, not essential)
n
- Highly developed interpersonal and leadership experience
n
- A strong commitment to high quality care
n
- The ability to work as part of a diverse team
n
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
n
n
Healthcare workers are strongly recommended to follow COVID vaccination recommendations provided in the Australian Immunisation handbook (based on ATAGI advice). Seasonal vaccination against influenza is a mandatory requirement of this role and an offer is conditional on this being up to date prior to employment.
