Job Description
We are seeking experienced Deputy Project Managers to support the delivery of a nationally significant maritime capability program operating within a complex acquisition, infrastructure and sustainment environment.
n
Working across integrated project teams, you will play a key role in planning, governance, delivery coordination and stakeholder engagement, helping to drive outcomes across technical, operational, support system and project delivery workstreams.
n
These opportunities are available across three specialist areas:
n
n
- Project Controls
n
- Mission Systems & Design Integration
n
- Future Dry Dock (FDD) Support Systems
n
n
24-month engagement based in Canberra.
n
Key Responsibilities
n
As a Deputy Project Manager, you will:
n
n
- Coordinate and support the delivery of complex programs across multiple interconnected workstreams.
n
- Lead Integrated Product Team (IPT) activities, including planning, stakeholder engagement, action management and progress tracking.
n
- Develop and maintain schedules, risks, issues, dependencies, forecasts and performance reporting to support informed decision-making.
n
- Support governance forums through the preparation of briefs, reports, submissions and executive decision-support material.
n
- Facilitate collaboration across technical, commercial, infrastructure and operational stakeholders to ensure integrated delivery outcomes.
n
- Contribute to procurement, contract establishment and project delivery activities.
n
- Support assurance, scenario analysis and delivery confidence activities across program priorities.
n
- Coordinate the integration of technical, support system and infrastructure requirements, ensuring alignment across project objectives.
n
- Manage interfaces between capability, support systems, facilities, infrastructure and enabling functions.
n
- Contribute to support system planning across logistics, maintenance, workforce, training,
certification and regulatory requirements.
n
- Maintain project controls frameworks across schedule, risk, cost and reporting disciplines.
n

Skills & Experience
n
We are looking for professionals with:
n
n
- Demonstrated project management experience within complex government, infrastructure, engineering, acquisition or sustainment environments.
n
- Experience managing schedules, risks, issues, dependencies and integrated delivery activities.
n
- Robust governance, reporting and stakeholder engagement capabilities.
n
- The ability to coordinate diverse teams and specialist stakeholders toward common outcomes.
n
- Experience preparing high-quality briefs, reports, submissions and decision-support products.
n
- Strong analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills.
n
- Experience supporting technical, program delivery, support system or project controls functions.
n
- The ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced and evolving environment.
n
n
Current Australian Government security clearance eligibility or an active clearance is highly desirable.
