Beacon Legal have partnered with a leading Australian financial services group in their search for a new Technology & Commercial Lawyer. They are looking to hire someone at the 3+ PQE level, to be based in their Sydney office.

We're seeking a proactive and motivated technology and commercial lawyer to support a dynamic and innovative central Commercial Legal team. This role offers the opportunity to work across cutting-edge technology, data, outsourcing and commercial contracting matters, supporting multiple business units across a large, complex and global organisation.

About the Role

n

- Review, draft and negotiate a broad range of technology and commercial contracts, including SaaS, cloud services, software licensing and regulated outsourcing arrangements.
n




- Provide strategic legal advice on technology initiatives and commercial projects across multiple business units.
n
- Advise on data, privacy, fraud and cyber security obligations.
n
- Contribute to governance, risk management and prudential compliance matters.
n
- Engage with internal stakeholders on emerging technologies, including natural language systems and generative AI.
n
- Manage external counsel where required and support continuous process improvement.
n

What type of person will be successful?

n

n
- Admitted as a lawyer in Australia.
n
- Practising as a technology / commercial lawyer for 3+ years, in private practice or in-house.
n
- Strong drafting, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
n
- Collaborative, adaptable, and commercially minded.
n
- Experience within financial services is valued, but relevant experience in other sectors will also be considered.
n
- Passionate about Technology with an Innovative and driven mindset.
