About the Role

n

Mill Park Secondary College is seeking a motivated and reliable Grounds & Maintenance Crew Member to join our team on a 6 month contract. This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a welcoming and supportive school community where your work will make a visible difference every day.

Based in Mill Park, Victoria, you will play an key role in maintaining the presentation, safety, and functionality of our extensive college grounds and facilities. Working alongside our friendly Grounds & Maintenance team, you will help create an environment where students can learn, staff can work, and visitors feel welcomed.

n

No two days are the same in this hands‐on role. From maintaining gardens and outdoor spaces to carrying out general maintenance and repairs, you'll enjoy a varied workload while contributing to a school that values teamwork, pride in our environment, and supporting one another.

Key Responsibilities

n

As a member of our Grounds & Maintenance team, you will:

n

Move furniture and equipment, including assembling furniture as required.

n

Carry out minor cleaning duties and graffiti removal.

n

Conduct regular perimeter inspections to maintain the security and safety of the school.

n

Perform grounds maintenance including mowing, brush cutting, edging, hedge trimming and operating a range of gardening equipment.

n

Maintain gardens through weeding, planting, mulching, pruning and general landscaping.

n

Complete basic painting, maintenance and minor repair works across the college.

n





Maintain clean, organised and safe storage areas and workshops.

n

Ensure all work is completed in accordance with workplace health and safety requirements.

n

Assist with the general presentation and upkeep of the college to ensure it remains an attractive and welcoming environment.

What We're Looking For

n

We're looking for someone who takes pride in their work, enjoys working outdoors and values being part of a team. Ideally, you will have:

n

Experience in grounds maintenance, landscaping, gardening or a similar role.

n

The ability to safely operate grounds maintenance equipment including mowers, brush cutters, hedge trimmers and leaf blowers.

n

A strong commitment to workplace health and safety.

n

Physical fitness and the ability to undertake manual tasks, including lifting and carrying.

n

Excellent attention to detail and pride in maintaining high standards.

n

The ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.

n

A positive, proactive and reliable approach to work.

n

Good communication skills and the ability to follow instructions.

n

A current Victorian Employee Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain one prior to commencement).

Drivers Licence
