Job Description

Due to an internal promotion, We are currently seeking a commercially minded Merchandise Planner to join our team and drive the financial performance of our Girl's Apparel category across all regions.

Reporting to the Planning Manager, you will play a pivotal role in maximising sales and profit through strategic planning, in-season trading, and detailed analysis. You'll collaborate closely with Buying, Retail and Leadership teams to ensure the right product is in the right place at the right time.

The Role

- Develop and execute seasonal merchandise plans, including sales, stock, OTB, and markdowns.
n
- Analyse and optimise inventory levels, stock turns, and size ratios.
n
- Review in-season performance and implement strategies to maximise profitability.
n
- Manage store grading, allocations, and replenishment strategies.
n
- Plan markdowns, manage aged inventory, and execute clearance strategies.
n
- Prepare and present trading reports with strategic recommendations.
n
- Collaborate with key stakeholders, including General Managers, State Managers and Designers.
n
- Lead and develop direct reports, fostering a high-performance culture.
n
- Ensure a safe and collaborative working environment while maintaining best practices.
n
- In office role 5-days per week, based in our St Kilda Road offices

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:

n

n
- A minimum of 5 years of merchandise planning experience within fashion apparel retail.
n
- Strong understanding of merchandise financial planning, OTB management, and inventory control.
n
- Proven experience in range and option planning, forecasting,



and markdown strategies.
n
- Proficiency in merchandise planning systems and Excel.
n
- Highly analytical with a commercial mindset and strong attention to detail.
n
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills to influence decision-making.
n
- Leadership experience with the ability to mentor and develop junior team members.
n
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while managing multiple priorities.
n
- A passion for fashion, trends, and delivering customer-focused results.
