An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Asset Consent Officer to join a busy local government infrastructure team on an initial 3-month contract.

n

This role is responsible for overseeing permit compliance, conducting inspections, investigating breaches, and ensuring works within the road reserve are completed in accordance with relevant standards, policies, and legislation.

n

Your new role Conduct inspections before, during, and after construction and reinstatement works.

n

Assess vehicle crossing and road reserve permit applications.

n

Monitor contractor and developer compliance with approved permits and Council standards.

n

Investigate and resolve permit breaches and non-compliance issues.

n

Provide advice and guidance to contractors, developers, and members of the public.

n

Prepare compliance documentation, notices, and correspondence.

n

Liaise with internal and external stakeholders regarding infrastructure and permit matters.

n

Maintain accurate records and utilise relevant systems for compliance and asset management activities.

What you'll need to succeed

n

n




- Experience in local government, civil construction, infrastructure maintenance, compliance, inspections, or a related field.
n
- Knowledge of vehicle crossing permits, road reserve permits, and associated legislation.
n
- Understanding of road, drainage, footpath, and civil infrastructure construction principles.
n
- Ability to read and interpret construction, engineering, or building plans.
n
- Experience monitoring contractor work and ensuring compliance with specifications and standards.
n
- Strong communication, stakeholder engagement, and problem-solving skills.
n
- Current Victorian Driving Licence
n
