Overview

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Payments Engineer to develop and enhance a large-scale payments workplace within a regulated enterprise. This role will focus on the configuration, integration, and support of Connex Payments platforms, ensuring high availability, security, and performance across critical payment services.

Base pay range

n

A$1,300.00/daily - A$1,400.00/daily

Responsibilities

n

n
- Develop and enhance a large-scale payments environment within a regulated enterprise.
n
- Configure, integrate, and support Connex Payments platforms to ensure high availability, security, and performance of critical payment services.
n

n

Required Skills & Qualifications

n

n
- Min 5 years' experience developing FIS Connex or similar EFT/switching platforms.
n
- In-depth knowledge of ISO 8583, EMV, and card payment transaction flows.
n
- Proficiency with Linux/Unix environments, shell scripting,



and system administration.
n
- Experience with network protocols (TCP/IP, TLS, VPN).
n
- Familiarity with ATM/POS terminal protocols and host interfaces.
n
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
n
- Experience in financial services, banking, or payment processing environments.
n

Nice-to-Have Skills

n

n
- Knowledge of other switching platforms (e.g., ACI Base24, Postilion, Way4).
n
- Experience with fault-tolerant architecture.
n
- Exposure to API integration, microservices, or message queues.
n
- Understanding of card issuing/acquiring systems.
n

Education & Experience

n

n
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
