Heavy Vehicle Mechanic - Afternoon Shift & Immediate Start

Our client is an industry leader in environmental and infrastructure services, specialising in the maintenance of critical underground assets across Australia and Current Zealand. They are seeking a trade-qualified Heavy Vehicle or Plant Mechanic who is looking to expand their skills into robotics, CCTV inspection technology, and specialised underground infrastructure equipment.

The Role:

n

This is not your typical workshop mechanic role. You'll be working on a combination of heavy vehicles, vacuum trucks, jetters, and specialised underground infrastructure equipment, while gaining hands-on experience with robotic CCTV inspection systems used to inspect underground pipelines.

Approximately 60-70% of your role will involve diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining robotic CCTV inspection equipment, with the remainder focused on servicing diesel-powered fleet vehicles and specialised machinery.

Key Responsibilities:

n

- Diagnose, repair, and maintain robotic CCTV inspection systems.
n
- Service and repair heavy vehicles, vacuum trucks, jetters, and specialised equipment.
n
- Perform preventative maintenance and breakdown repairs.
n
- Fault find across diesel engines, hydraulic, electrical,



and electronic systems.
n
- Carry out welding and fabrication work as required.
n
- Maintain high safety and quality standards within the workshop.
n

Selection Criteria:

n

n
- Trade qualification as a Heavy Vehicle or Plant Mechanic.
n
- Experience with hydraulic and electrical systems.
n
- Interest in developing skills in robotics and specialised electronic equipment
n
- Able to pass a Drug & Alcohol test
n
- Own transport
n
- Work for a company that leads environmental and infrastructure services across Australia.
n

- Work 5-6 days a week, up to 10 hours per day paid on time and a half after 8 hrs, double time after 10 hrs!

- Have ongoing, long-term work with a view of full-time employment within 8-12 months!

- Ongoing site training provided!
