ShawX Manufacturing, South East Qld, is a growing Australian manufacturer of EjectX truck bodies used across the transport, asphalt and heavy haulage industries.
We are looking for a Diesel Fitter / Heavy Vehicle Fitter to join our workshop team. This is a hands-on position working on trucks and EjectX bodies, covering new fit-ups, repairs, servicing and general mechanical work.
About the Role
You will be responsible for the mechanical fit-up and ongoing repairs of trucks and EjectX bodies.
Your day-to-day work will include:
Fitting lazy axles and associated components
Installing PTOs and hydraulic systems
General repairs to trucks & earthmoving equipment
Mechanical fit-up of EjectX bodies to trucks
General mechanical work and modifications to trucks
Diagnosing and repairing mechanical and hydraulic faults
Carrying out repairs and maintenance on EjectX bodies
Using workshop tools and equipment
Checking completed work to ensure it meets our quality standards
Working with the workshop and engineering teams to resolve issues
Keeping your work area clean and safe
About You
We are looking for someone who is practical, reliable and takes pride in their work.
You will ideally have:
Trade qualification as a Diesel Fitter, Heavy Vehicle Mechanic, Mechanical Fitter or similar
Experience working on trucks, trailers or heavy equipment
Valuable mechanical and hydraulic knowledge
Experience with PTOs, hydraulic pumps and hydraulic systems
Experience diagnosing faults and carrying out repairs
High attention to detail
A strong focus on safety and quality
Lean or similar background- Desirable
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
A willingness to get in and get the job done
