About the Role:

This is a rare opportunity to join a high-performing finance team within a major heavy industry operator based in coastal North Queensland. Offering a mix of strategic insight, business partnering, and hands-on financial analysis and modelling, this role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, operationally focused environment and keen to be closer to the action.

This is a permanent, full-time position based on-site (Monday to Friday). Full relocation support and temporary accommodation are available to help you, and your family settle into the local community.

What to Expect:

n

This role is responsible for delivering financial analysis and reporting, while coordinating budgeting and forecasting processes to support optimal financial outcomes and ensure the operation meets its financial obligations.

n

Reporting to the Finance Manager, you'll play a key role in driving the financial performance of the operation through robust analysis, insight, and planning. Your responsibilities will include:

- Leading the budgeting and forecasting cycles across all departments
n
- Preparing and delivering internal management reports and financial commentary
n
- Performing guided and ad hoc financial analysis to provide meaningful insights into port operations and support decision-making
n
- Working closely with operational teams to combine financial and operating data for strategic improvements
n
- Supporting the Finance Manager with business improvement initiatives and planning
n
- Advising internal stakeholders and contributing to broader team success
n

Strong stakeholder engagement, analytical capability,



and a genuine interest in business performance will be critical to success in this role.

What We're Looking For:

n

n
- Degree qualified in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
n
- CA/CPA qualified (or progressing towards)
n
- Solid background in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
n
- Experience within heavy industry, mining, infrastructure, or a similar operational environment would be ideal.
n
- High-level Excel skills and familiarity with ERP systems (SAP preferred)
n
- Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities
n
