Job Description
Project Engineering Manager - ATM
n
As part of our Civil group, the Project Engineering Manager - ATM will support the Air Traffic Management (ATM) programme as required in the tender, planning, and implementation phases of Saab's Air Traffic Management projects.
n
Key responsibilities include:
n
n
- Lead and manage a multi‐disciplinary engineering team to deliver complex ATM system projects.
n
- Apply systems engineering processes and rigor to ensure projects are executed to the highest standards, aligned with organisational policy and best practices.
n
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement and ensure successful delivery of technical solutions that meet operational requirements.
n
- Develop and maintain the project Systems Engineering Management Plan.
n
- Manage the resource plan for ATM project engineering resources within budget and planning constraints to deliver engineering outcomes.
n
- Ensure project engineering resources possess the necessary competence and experience.
n
- Maintain regular and effective liaison with the customer, managing scope, resource, and schedule risks, and escalating as appropriate.
n
- Manage all project technical issues and risks, controlling technical scope through collaboration with the customer and Project Manager.
n
- Establish and maintain baselines defined in the SEMP and ensure appropriate control of baseline configuration in accordance with the ATM Programme Configuration Management Plan.
n
- Comply with legislation and company policies, processes, and instructions, including those relating to non‐discrimination, safety, duty of care, and the quality management system.
n
- Other accountabilities related to Saab Australia's Delegation of Authority (000AAT206).
n

Requirements:
n
n
- Degree in engineering or computer science with recent relevant experience.
n
- Significant experience in the application of systems engineering principles in ATM domain projects, especially in design, implementation, and support.
n
- Ability to navigate complex technical challenges while delivering innovative solutions aligned with strategic goals for in‐country ATM capability.
n
- Proficient knowledge of ATM systems and their integration.
n
- Demonstrated awareness and capability to address whole‐of‐capability/systems issues, including operational safety, Integrated Logistics Support, Human Factors, and supportability.
n
- Competent knowledge of security in the context of the Australian government's Information Security Manual (ISM).
n
- Ability to manage complex technical issues within project cost, time, and quality constraints.
n
- Operational or engineering experience in the Air Traffic Management domain is highly desirable.
n
- Eligibility for chartered engineering status and state engineering registration (Queensland/Victoria).
n
- As a defence security clearance is required, applicants must hold an Australian Defence Security Clearance to baseline level or be able to obtain one.
n
n
