Working within a collaborative Open Space Planning and Recreation team, you will contribute to projects that enhance parks, playgrounds, streetscapes and public domain outcomes for the local community.

Your new role
n
n
- Managing open space projects from concept design through to construction and completion
n
- Undertaking site investigations, analysis and preparation of design documentation
n
- Preparing concept and detailed designs, specifications and tender documentation
n
- Administering contracts and monitoring project budgets and expenditure
n
- Conducting site inspections and supervising work to ensure quality outcomes
n
- Reviewing Development Applications and Planning Proposals, providing landscape and tree-related advice
n
- Preparing reports, correspondence, cost estimates and project management documentation
n
- Facilitating community consultation and stakeholder engagement activities
n
- Assisting with environmental assessments and regulatory approvals
n
- Providing landscape design advice to internal stakeholders and project teams
n
- Projects will include playground upgrades, park improvements, public domain works,
streetscape projects and strategic planning initiatives.

What you'll need to succeed
n
n
- Degree qualifications in Landscape Architecture or a related discipline
n
- Minimum 3 years' post-graduate experience
n
- Experience delivering open space projects, parks, playgrounds, streetscapes or recreational facilities
n
- Strong design, project management and contract administration skills
n
- Experience preparing cost estimates and project documentation
n
- Excellent written, verbal and visual communication skills
n
- Proficiency in AutoCAD or Vector works, Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office
n
- Current Class C Driving Licence
n
- Highly regarded: Local Government experience
n
- Experience reviewing Development Applications and Planning Proposals
n
- Procurement and tendering experience
n
- GIS/QIS capability
n
- Experience with playground upgrades and open space asset management
n
