Role Description The Restoration Technician is a full-time, on-site role based in Melbourne, VIC regiinal & metro. This role involves responding to property damage events, including water damage and related restoration needs, using industry-approved techniques and equipment. Day-to-day tasks include assessing affected areas, performing mitigation activities, removing damaged materials, and assisting with the restoration and cleaning of facilities.
The technician will document work performed, follow safety and compliance procedures,
and communicate clearly with supervisors, team members, and clients regarding job status and requirements. The role also requires participation in occasional after-hours emergency calls as needed to support clients.
Qualifications
- Knowledge and hands-on experience in Water Damage and Water Damage Restoration techniques, equipment, and safety practices.
- Experience with Mitigation activities, including assessment, containment, and prevention of further property damage.
- Awareness of Invasive Species issues and the impact on facilities, with the ability to follow appropriate treatment or containment guidelines.
- Strong Communication skills for interacting with clients, supervisors, and team members, and for accurately documenting work performed.
- Ability to follow restoration protocols, work safely with cleaning and restoration chemicals, and adhere to workplace health and safety standards.
- Strong attention to detail, reliability, and the ability to work effectively in a team and independently in fast-paced, sometimes emergency situations.
- Physical capability to perform manual tasks such as lifting, moving equipment, and working in various environmental conditions.
- Previous experience in restoration, cleaning, or facility management and relevant certifications (e.g., IICRC or similar) are beneficial.
