South Bank Corporation is the independent statutory body responsible for the development and operation of South Bank, Brisbane's favourite destination and one of Queensland's most-visited attractions.
Since its inception more than 30 years ago as a legacy of World Expo '88, millions of people from Australia and around the world have enjoyed its iconic mix of recreational, cultural, educational and commercial areas.
The South Bank precinct spans 42 hectares, including 1.2 km of tree-lined riverfront and over 14 hectares of parkland, attracts 14 million people a year, hosts over 700 free events activities, supports over 8000 jobs and contributes over $900 million to the Queensland economy.
With Brisbane set to host the Olympic and Paralympic Games in 2032, South Bank will build on its heritage as the home of major events to provide a hub for public gathering and experiences during the Games and beyond.
About our chance
We are seeking a Risk and Business Continuity Advisor on a contract until 25 June 2027 to support South Bank Corporation in maintaining a robust risk management framework and ensuring business continuity.
The advisor will assist with identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks to the Corporation’s operations and assets, ensuring that risk management activities are conducted to the highest standards in accordance with established processes and procedures.
The advisor will also assist in implementing and maintain business continuity plans to ensure the Corporation can continue critical operations during and after disruptive events. Additionally, the advisor will ensure compliance with all legislative and mandatory requirements for a Statutory Body of the Queensland Government.
About you
- Understanding of legislation, policies, and practices associated with high-level risk management, business continuity, and support services.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in risk assessment, mitigation strategies, and business continuity planning.
- Demonstrated knowledge of software packages and information systems, including Microsoft Office programs, which support administrative, asset, risk management, and business continuity functions.
- High level of written and oral communication, negotiation, and consultation skills, including the ability to operate effectively as a member of a team or workgroup.
- Ability to apply skills in investigation, research, problem-solving, and decision-making, particularly in the context of risk management and business continuity.
- Ability to contribute to team direction, give and receive feedback, and achieve agreed performance standards to contribute to a culture of performance excellence.
- Public sector experience is advantageous.
