Our client, a well-regarded Foreign Bank with a growing Sydney operation, is seeking a Risk and Compliance Officer to help strengthen its risk and governance framework across the local business.
This is a broad, hands-on role at the centre of the bank's risk, compliance and financial resilience activity. You'll work closely with business units, key stakeholders and the group's head office to identify and assess risks, implement controls, and keep the business aligned with Australian banking regulation.

What you'll do
- Assess market, liquidity and operational risk across the business
- Monitor portfolio exposures and higher-risk accounts to head off potential losses
- Run risk appetite and limit monitoring through the Management Information System (MIS)
- Prepare risk analysis reports, including data deep-dives and control-effectiveness assessments
- Review and refine risk frameworks, internal policies and operating procedures
- Keep risk and monitoring activity aligned with APRA and ASIC requirements and group standards
- Coordinate across risk, internal control, compliance and audit on regulatory reporting and threshold breaches
What you'll bring
- 2-4+ years in risk and compliance within Australian banking or financial services (ADI experience a plus)
- A degree in Finance, Business, Economics, Mathematics or a related field
- Solid grounding in risk frameworks, compliance obligations and assurance processes
- Strong analytical, written and verbal communication skills in English
- Mandarin proficiency (written and spoken) to liaise with head office and review bilingual documentation
