About The Role The Engagement and Wellbeing Directorate develops and provides evidence-based policies, guidelines, procedures and proactive engagement and wellbeing strategies to support education and care settings, foster effective learner participation and engagement for improved learning and wellbeing outcomes.
The Senior Adviser, Behaviour provides statewide leadership and specialist expertise to strengthen behaviour support across South Australian public education settings. The role leads the development, implementation and evaluation of evidence-informed policy, programs, guidelines and strategic initiatives that strengthen inclusive and responsive behaviour support across the system. The position requires a comprehensive understanding of behaviour support policy and practice, relevant legislation, contemporary approaches to prevention, early intervention and intensive support, and the complex factors that influence student behaviour, learning and wellbeing.
The Senior
Adviser informs departmental strategy, policy reform and service improvement, providing high-level advice to educators and senior leaders, to improve outcomes for children and young people.
Qualifications Essential: A tertiary qualification in one or more of the following fields: education,
psychology, speech pathology, social work or other relevant behavioural/social science
Desirable: Relevant postgraduate qualifications
Special conditions The successful applicant is required to gain a Department for Human Services (DHS) working with children check (WWCC) prior to being employed which is required to be renewed every five years before expiry.
The incumbent will be required to undertake RRHAN –EC (Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect - Education Care) Facilitator Lead (Masterclass) extended course or the online (Fundamentals) course which will be required to be updated every three years.

Remuneration S121-3 $147,910 per annum (1.0 FTE) + superannuation (12%)
