The Role
Tungsten Mining is seeking an experienced Safety Adviser to support our Mt Mulgine Project in Western Australia - one of the largest known tungsten deposits outside of China. As we progress this significant project towards development, you'll have the unique opportunity to help shape safety systems, influence leaders, and contribute to the success of a critical minerals project.
Reporting to the Health, Safety & Training Manager, you'll work closely with operational leaders, employees and contractors to drive a proactive safety culture, provide practical HST support, and contribute to the development and continuous improvement of our Mine Safety Management System. Additional key responsibilities include the following.
- Support with the development, implementation & management of safety management systems (SMS), procedures, documents and frameworks.
- Advise on risks and operational controls in accordance with industry guidelines and WHS legislation.
- Provide practical safety advice and coaching to supervisors, managers and employees.
- Actively promote a positive and engaged safety culture.
- Facilitate workplace risk assessments.
- Attend pre-start meetings and providing feedback to teams.
- Liaise with Health & Safety Representatives and facilitate Health & Safety Committee Meetings.
About You
This is an opportunity to join a growing business and be part of establishing a Safety Department. As such,
you will be an expert within your field and a natural team player with strong interpersonal and relationship skills. In addition, you will possess the following.
- Diploma or Degree in Workplace/Occupational Health and Safety.
- Previous Health & Safety experience within mining, construction or project delivery.
- Competent with incident investigations, risk management and contractor management processes.
- Solid knowledge of WHS legislation and compliance.
- Knowledgeable with ICAM Lead Investigator.
- INX InControl experience (highly regarded).
- Confidence to coach, influence and build trusted relationships across all levels of the business.
- A proactive, hands-on approach and passion for creating safer workplaces.
