Safety & Environmental Business Partner

At One Rail, we are looking for a Safety & Environmental Business Partner to help drive our safety culture, environmental performance, and sustainability initiatives across our national operations.

Partnering with operational and maintenance leaders, you'll provide practical guidance, ensure compliance with environmental and safety obligations, and support programs that create safer workplaces and better environmental outcomes.

What You'll Be Doing

- Deliver environmental and sustainability training programs.
- Manage environmental compliance, reporting and licence obligations.
- Support sustainability, emissions reduction and energy efficiency initiatives.
- Assist with environmental reporting, including NGER, NPI and GRESB submissions.
- Partner with leaders to implement and improve our Safety Management System.
- Provide coaching and support on safety, risk and environmental matters.
- Lead incident investigations and develop improvement actions.
- Conduct site inspections, audits and risk assessments.
- Engage with regulators, stakeholders and local communities.
- Drive continuous improvement across safety and environmental performance.

What You'll Bring

Essential





- Tertiary qualification in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Safety or a related discipline.
- 2-3 years' experience in a Safety and/or Environmental role.
- Knowledge of environmental legislation and compliance requirements across NSW and Queensland.
- Experience working with regulators, environmental reporting, incident investigations and Environmental Management Systems.
- Solid communication, stakeholder engagement and problem-solving skills.

Desirable

- Lead Environmental Auditor and ICAM (or equivalent) investigation qualifications Experience in the rail industry, including Environmental Protection Licences (EPLs).
- Knowledge of Rail Safety Management Systems, ESG reporting and sustainability initiatives.
