Sales Engineer – BESS
Location: Australia – Remote; Sydney or Melbourne preferred.
Reports To: VP Technical
Role Overview: We are seeking a technically skilled Sales Engineer to support pre-sales, system design, project delivery, and vendor collaboration for our BESS and renewable energy solutions. You will work closely with internal teams, customers, and vendors to design and implement tailored energy storage solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct pre-sales technical discussions and provide expert solution guidance.
- Design and document customized technical solutions.
- Manage technical aspects of projects from design through delivery, installation, and commissioning.
- Collect market intelligence, draft proposals, and support post-sales technical issues.
- Engage and maintain relationships with vendors, supporting technical discussions and commercial negotiations.
- Collaborate with engineering, R&D;, and supply chain teams.
- Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and best practices.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or related fields.
- 2–5 years of experience in energy storage, renewable energy, or integrated AC/DC systems.
- Strong knowledge of PCS, transformers, LV/MV panels, skids, batteries (LFP, Li-ion), and system integration.
- Experience with utility-scale design, grid-connected/grid-forming BESS, interconnection standards, and compliance.
- Proficient with modeling/simulation tools (ETAP, Matlab Simulink, PSCAD, PSSE) and communication protocols (Modbus TCP/IP, CANbus, DNP3).
- Excellent problem-solving, coordination, and communication skills in English; additional languages a plus.
Preferred:
- Experience with project management tools or CRM systems.
- Technical certifications in energy storage or renewable energy.
- Vendor management and commercial negotiation experience.
- Chinese-speaking skills.
- Australian Permanent Residency (PR) preferred.
