Mount Isa Mines is currently seeking a skilled and safety‐conscious Crane Operator to join the team, operating 18 & 20‐tonne cranes primarily within the Zinc Lead Concentrator. This role also provides crane support across the Lead Smelter, Copper Smelter, and George Fisher Mine (GFM). You'll play a key role in executing complex lifts, supporting maintenance activities, and ensuring the secure and efficient operation of mobile lifting equipment across multiple processing areas.

Reporting to the Supervisor – Coordinator Maintenance, you will work a 56‐hour week roster with the flexibility to support call‐ins and after‐hours work as required by operational demands.

The successful candidate will be responsible:

n

- Operate the cranage safely and effectively in line with operational and project requirements
n
- Plan and execute complex lifting operations to support maintenance and project activities across the Zinc Lead Concentrator, Lead Smelter, Copper Smelter, and GFM.
n




- Perform lifting tasks in accordance with lift plans, safety procedures, and site standards
n
- Support shutdowns, infrastructure upgrades, and other fixed plant project work
n
- Assist with mobilisation/demobilisation of mobile equipment and site logistics
n
- Load/unload trucks and provide general support to the maintenance and workshop teams as required

You will have the following skillset and attributes:

n

n
- High Risk Work Licence – C0 (Crane) – mandatory
n
- Dogging (DG) and Basic Rigging (RB) tickets – mandatory
n
- HR (Heavy Rigid) Licence – mandatory
n
- CN (Non‐slewing mobile crane) and CB (Bridge and gantry crane) tickets – desirable
n
- EWP (Elevated Work Platform) High Risk Ticket
n
- Forklift - High Risk Ticket
n
- Experience operating mobile cranes in a heavy industrial or mining environment
n
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
n
- SAP experience desirable
n
- Commitment to safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement
