Job Description
Plant Operator (Parks and Natural Areas)
n
We're looking for a motivated Plant Operator to join our Parks & Natural Areas team. If you enjoy working with a great crew, take pride in maintaining parks and open spaces, and have experience operating horticultural plant and equipment, we'd love to hear from you.

Every day is different as you help keep our parks, gardens, sports fields and natural areas looking their best for the community to enjoy.

What you'll be doing
n
As a Plant Operator, you'll play an important role in delivering high-quality maintenance across the Sutherland Shire by:
n
n
- Operating a range of horticultural plant and equipment, including ride-on mowers, tractors, slashers, wood chippers and chainsaws.
n
- Mowing, brush cutting and edging parks and reserves.
n
- Maintaining gardens through planting, pruning, mulching, watering, fertilising and weed control.
n
- Assisting with minor landscaping and bushland maintenance.
n
- Loading, transporting and unloading materials and equipment.
n
- Conducting daily pre-start inspections and maintaining equipment.
n
- Working safely while following WHS procedures, traffic management requirements and environmental standards.
n
- Reporting asset defects and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
n
n
About You
n
You'll be someone who enjoys hands-on work, values teamwork and takes pride in delivering quality outcomes.
n
To be successful you'll have:
n
n
- A current MR (Medium Rigid) Driver Licence.
n
- A current White Card.
n
- Experience operating horticultural plant and equipment.
n
- A strong commitment to workplace health and safety.
n
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
n
- The ability to plan your work,
manage your workload and deliver quality results.
n
n
Highly regarded:
n
n
- Certificate II in Horticulture, Arboriculture or similar.
n
- Traffic Control qualifications.
n
- ChemCert (AQF3) or equivalent.
n
n

- Package: $67,397 - $75,483 gross p.a. plus 12% superannuation. Salary will be determined based on the skills and experience of successful candidates.
n
- Hours of work: Permanent Full Time 38 hours per week with a 9 day fortnight.
n
