Power BI Architect

4 month contract
n In collaboration with the Queensland State Government, we are looking for a Power BI Architect to design and stand up a secure, scalable and well-governed enterprise reporting environment from the ground up. This role will shape how the organisation manages data, delivers insights, and connects operational and analytical reporting across core platforms.

What you'll be doing
n
n
- Designing and establishing the enterprise Power BI environment, including governance, architecture, and platform configuration.
n
- Defining reporting standards, governance frameworks and platform controls for consistent, trusted analytics.
n
- Designing and implementing integration with Salesforce and other enterprise data sources.
n
- Establishing data structures and modelling approaches to support reliable, repeatable reporting.
n
- Delivering the initial dashboard suite aligned to priority business and legislative needs.
n
- Embedding security, access controls and data integrity across the reporting ecosystem.
n
- Creating an environment that supports multiple data sources across on-prem and cloud platforms.
n
- Producing documentation, standards, and knowledge transfer materials for internal capability uplift.
n
- Working with business and ICT teams to ensure reporting outputs align with operational and executive requirements.
n

What you need to bring
n
n
- Deep expertise in Power BI architecture, governance and enterprise deployment patterns.
n
- Experience establishing Power BI environments from inception in government or regulated settings.
n
- Strong understanding of data modelling, security and performance within government contexts.
n
- Proven ability to integrate Power BI with Salesforce and other enterprise systems.
n
- Demonstrated capability in defining reporting standards and governance.
n
- Experience designing solutions spanning cloud and on-premise environments with multiple data sources.
n
- Strong documentation and knowledge-transfer capability.
n
- Experience uplifting internal reporting capability from a low-maturity starting point.
n
- Familiarity with organisational change considerations when implementing enterprise analytics.
n
- Ability to translate complex data concepts into explicit, practical guidance for stakeholders.
n

- This role will require the successful candidate to work onsite in the Brisbane CBD full time Monday - Friday.
