Role Overview

n

We are looking for a highly experienced Senior Business Analyst and Payments SME to lead complex transformations across our merchant acquiring and card issuing platforms. You will bridge the gap between regulatory compliance (AUSTRAC, AML/CTF, KYB) and technical execution, ensuring our payment ecosystems are secure, scalable, and fully compliant with global scheme rules (Visa, Mastercard, AP+).

Key Responsibilities

n

n
- Lead Merchant Onboarding Workflows: Define and optimize end-to-end merchant onboarding processes, including KYB verification, AML/CTF screening, and risk scoring models.
n
- Regulatory & Scheme Compliance: Translate AUSTRAC requirements, PCI DSS/PCI-PIN standards, and Visa/Mastercard mandates into detailed functional and technical specifications.
n
- API & Integration Strategy: Define data models and integration requirements for REST APIs and microservices, specifically supporting merchant servicing and transaction lifecycles.
n
- Platform Migration: Drive large-scale migrations (e.g., VisionPlus, PowerCard, or legacy switch to AWS-hosted environments) by mapping complex data structures and managing merchant profile impacts.
n
- Dispute Management: Architect requirements for the full chargeback lifecycle, leveraging deep knowledge of VROL, Mastercom, and Ethoca.
n
- Stakeholder Liaison: Act as the primary bridge between Product, Business, Compliance,



and Engineering teams to ensure delivered solutions meet operational and regulatory needs.

Required Skills & Experience

n

n
- 15+ years of experience in Merchant Acquiring, Onboarding, and Payments.
n
- Qualified technical experience in platform migration from legacy systems/platforms to CLOUD (AWS)
n
- In-depth technical expertise of smart cards (EMV) and EMV 3DS 2.x
n
- In-depth technical knowledge of and experience in local and global switches, mainframe (OS390, CICS, COBOL, and Assembler)
n
- Extensive experience with HSM's
n
- Proven experience in Scheme Compliance and VISA Service Tools - VROL, VDMS, VTS, TMS, VCEH, VCES, VROL, VCR, VRAD and RDR
n
- An expert in Merchant onboarding, merchant terminals, payment gateways and ATM'S/POS terminals
n
- Deep Technical Expertise: Proficiency in message mapping (ISO8583, AS2805, ISO20022) and payment platforms and legacy card systems like VisionPlus, PowerCard, or CardPac.
n
- Compliance Mastery: Expert knowledge of AML/CTF (AUSTRAC), KYB metrics, Suspicious Matter Reporting (SMR), and Sanctions Screening.
n
- Security Standards: Solid understanding of PCI DSS and PCI-PIN requirements for secure data handling and storage.
n
- Agile Delivery: Proven ability to author high-quality User Stories, Acceptance Criteria, and BRDs/FSDs within an Agile squad setting.
n
- Process Modeling: Advanced skills in BPMN 2.0 for current and future state workflow mapping.
